This is due to the shift of the beginning of the harvest in about two weeks," – said the press service of the Ministry.

According to the representative of the Ministry, as of July 27, at 36% below last year raised vegetables, 19% for potatoes. Of greenhouse vegetables, according to the July 26, collected by 19.8% more than the year before.

"During the current season are expected to harvest domestic fruit and vegetables on average over the last five years level", – noted in the Ministry of agriculture.

Earlier, the Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Alexander Tkachev said that the adverse weather conditions in the Russian regions moved the timing of harvest for two weeks, but the loss of crops is minimal. However, the Minister noted that the harvest of fruits and vegetables will remain at the same level as last year, despite losses due to bad weather.

In mid-June, the USDA announced a possible decrease in yield of grain, potatoes and sugar beet in Russia in comparison with last year due to adverse weather conditions.
