According to him, Russia may introduce restrictions on the importation of sugar from neighboring countries – Belarus and Kazakhstan. According to experts of the Ministry of agriculture, in Russia the overproduction of sugar in the area of 700 thousand tons, which the country should take. However, unscrupulous policy of neighboring countries, leads to the loss industry.

According to the Minister, Kazakhstan and Belarus supply product from other countries cheaper than the price in the domestic market, and this has a negative impact on Russia's domestic market. According to him, last month the price of sugar has decreased almost two times from 44 to 26 rubles per kilogram.

This situation puts the producers of "on your knees". Many businesses are unable to compete with duty-free import of sugar, suffer losses. According to Tkachev, the Ministry of agriculture shall immediately take a series of emergency measures to organize the market of the Eurasian economic Union.
