According to Rosstat, the share of consumer goods produced abroad in retail in the second quarter of this year amounted to 33 per cent and food — 21 percent. In 2005, when the monitoring indicator, imported potrebovali took 45 percent of the entire range, food — 36 percent.

The decrease in the share of foreign goods in the Ministry of industry and trade explained the development of domestic production and a shift in Russia capacity of foreign companies. "The goods of corporations moving from the category import to the category are produced in our country. It is beneficial to the country's economy and producers," — said the Agency.

The Ministry of agriculture noted that in recent years significantly increased Russian production of a number of foods. The most successful is the substitution of imported vegetables.

Lecturer at Institute of business studies Ranepa Galina Kuznetsova explained that the decline in the share of imports — a seasonal phenomenon. "The trend is still very unstable, and to say that import substitution has taken place fully, it is impossible," she said.

In August, the head of the Ministry of industry and trade Denis Manturov noted that the optimal policy of import substitution is the rate of 62 rubles per dollar.

According to the Federal customs service of Russia, in January-July 2017 the import of goods grew by 27.4% yoy, to 107.6 billion.
