The availability of fat in the Ukraine became the subject of another study on the level of life of Ukrainians, said the head of the Association of retailers of Ukraine Oleksiy Doroshenko on his page in Facebook.

"We again measure the level of life of Ukrainians. This time fat. Why bacon? This product is our national pride <...> We have calculated how much you can buy national product on the average salary in each region of Ukraine," — said Doroshenko.

Analysis of official statistics showed that the purchasing power for the year fell by 30%. If in March 2017, a Ukrainian with an average salary 6752 hryvnia could afford to buy 168 kg of fat, in a year when the salary 8382 hryvnia — only 117 kg.

It is noted that relatively affordable "national pride" remains in the Rivne and Volyn regions — they are on an average salary can be purchased at a 145 kg of fat. Strongest purchasing power fell in Mykolaiv and Kyiv regions, where residents can now buy at 75 kg and 69 kg of fat less.

Doroshenko explained that such a situation could provoke in Ukraine a third "Maidan", the causes which are mostly economic.

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian Association reported that by the end of 2017 in Ukraine on 28-67% more expensive all kinds of meat, and most of all rose fat by 67%.
