Russia: on may 7, spring grains sown 6.7 million hectares
According to operational data of the agricultural administrative bodies of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, as of 7 may 2018 the whole country fueled 12.4 million hectares or 72,8% of the sowing areas (in 2017 – 12.9 million hectares) of winter crops.

Spring sowing in the whole country conducted in an area of 11.8 million ha or 22.1% of the forecast (2017 – 13.3 million hectares). Including in the southern Federal district spring sowing carried out on an area of 4.1 million hectares or 66.4% of the forecast (2017 3.7 million hectares). In the North Caucasian Federal district – 1.4 million hectares, or 75.3 per cent of the forecast (2017 – 1.4 million ha). In the Central Federal district – 4.6 million hectares or 47.5% of the forecast (2017 – 5.7 million ha). In the far Eastern Federal district – 309,1 thousand ha or 16.1% of the forecast (2017 – 228,5 thousand hectares). In the North-Western Federal district – 70,1 thousand hectares or 13.2% of the forecast (2017 – 32.2 thousand hectares). In the Volga Federal district, with 1.1 million hectares or 7.1% of the forecast (2017 – 2.0 million hectares). In the Siberian Federal district – 136,1 thousand ha or 1% of the forecast (2017 – 142,3 thousand hectares). In the Urals Federal district – 30.4 thousand ha or 0.7% of the forecast (2017 78.1 per thousand hectares).

Spring grain and leguminous crops in the whole country was sown 6.7 million hectares or 21.7% of the forecast (2017, 7.7 million hectares). Of them, spring wheat was sown 908,2 thousand hectares or 7% of the forecast (2017 and 1.1 million hectares). Spring barley was sown on the area of 2.7 million hectares or 35.7% of the forecast (2017 to 3.1 million hectares). Corn for grain was sown on the area of 1.5 million hectares or 51% of the forecast (2017 to 1.8 million hectares). Rice is planted on an area of 111.4 thousand ha or 60.5% of the forecast (2017 – 59,3 thousand hectares).

Sugar beet (factory) were sown 788,5 thousand hectares or 72% of the forecast (2017 – 990,2 thousand hectares).

Flax was sown on the area of 1.8 thousand hectares, or 3.9% of the forecast (2017 – 0,6 thousand hectares).

Sunflower planted on an area of 2.1 million ha or 27.5% of the forecast (2017 and 2.3 million hectares).

Soybeans were sown 525,5 thousand ha or 19.4% of the forecast (2017 – 476 hectares).

Canola spring sown on the area of 177,4 thousand ha or 16.9% of the forecast (2017 – at 184, 3 thousand hectares).

In the agricultural enterprises and peasant (farm) potatoes planted on the area of 60.9 hectares, or 19.9% of the forecast (2017 and 71.6 thousand hectares). Vegetables planted on an area of 55.6 thousand ha or 31.6% of the forecast (2017 – 62,4 thousand hectares).
