As they say agronomists, the climate in kharabalinskiy district (it is located along the banks of the Volga near the river Delta) is the most favorable for growing tomatoes. And not only in Russia but also worldwide. Similar plots have only in Iran, Mexico, China and several other countries. It is not surprising that investors decided to build a plant for production of tomato paste here.

By using our own raw materials base APK "Astrakhan" managed for two years to bring the production paste up to 30 thousand tons per year, or about 20 percent of the Russian market. And this summer, kharabalinskiy district, the company is launching the third phase of the plant. Investors have already coined more than three thousand hectares of unused land, and the yield of tomatoes amounted to 850 kilograms per hectare. The plant has invested more than five billion rubles, more than 600 local people got jobs.

Apparently, investors are very satisfied with the cooperation with local authorities - they are now considering the option of building another plant, now in the territory of Enotaevsky district. The head of the region Alexander Zhilkin has assured that the authorities will do everything possible within their powers to questions of interaction with the state was resolved as quickly as possible. He advised the government to make all efforts for implementation of the project. The Governor also will personally oversee a new project.
