In agricultural organizations, the production of livestock and poultry (in live weight) amounted to 2 738,3 thousand tons, which is 7.0% above the comparable period in 2017, including KRS – 231,3 thousand tons (+4,9%); pigs – 960,1 thousand tons (+12.1 per cent); poultry meat – 1 537,8 thousand tons (+4.4 per cent).

According to operational data departmental weekly monitoring the price situation on food market average price of agricultural producers of the Russian Federation on 10.05.2018 of beef half-carcasses amounted to 203,23 thousand RUB/t (-0.3 percent for the week to 1.2% by the end of December 2017), pork half – carcasses- 151,08 thousand RUB/t (+0,7% for the week, +0.7% to end December 2017), poultry – 94.00 thousand RUB/ton (0,0%, -2.9 percent by the end of December 2017).

According to Rosstat, industrial production of meat in January-March 2018 made 572,7 thousand tons (7.2% more than the same period of 2017), meat, meat-containing, chilled, frozen – 742,9 thousand tons (3.8% more), sausage products, including sausage products for baby food – 512,5 thousand tons (0.5% less) and canned meat (meat-containing), including canned baby food – 121,3 million bottles. (0.5% more).

Average consumer prices for 07.05.2018 were: beef – 322,19 RUB/kg (0,0%, +0.2% from the beginning of 2018); pork – 253,07 RUB/kg (+0,2% over the week -1,4% since the beginning of 2018), and poultry – 121,95 RUB/kg (+0,1% for the week and 2.8% since the beginning of 2018).

According to operative data of the Federal customs service of Russia (excluding trade with EAEU countries), shipments in the current year (as of 06.05.2018) of imported beef decreased by 18.4% compared to the same period of 2017 and amounted to 60.6 thousand tons, pork – by 4.3 times to 19.9 thousand tons and poultry 22.0% to 23.4 thousand tons

As of may 6, 2018 average contract prices compared to the same period last year higher for beef – by 15.3% and amounted to 3 691,4$./t (or 233,3 thousand RUB/t), for pork by 1.2% and amounted to 2 $ 765,2./t (or 174.8 thousand RUB/t), poultry – by 10.5% and amounted to 1 730,0 million./t (or 109.3 thousand RUB/t).

According to operative data of the Federal customs service of Russia (excluding trade with the countries of the EEU) in the current year (as of 06.05.2018) beef exports increased in 1.6 times in comparison with the same period of 2017 to $ 0.6 thousand tons, pork – by 1.4% to 26.6 thousand tons, poultry – by 1.3% to 47.7 thousand tons.

The main consumer countries are the Ukraine, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Iran, UAE. In foreign countries in the past week prices have not changed for poultry meat ($826,9. US $ /tonne) decreased in the pork 0.6% (1 431,0 € /t) and for beef by 0.1% ($3 823,1. US $ /tonne).
