Heat and drought bring serious damage to agriculture of Austria, the newspaper Kurier on 8 August.

"If you look at recent years, we are halfway to disaster. For the last 6 years of drought brought massive damage four times. Damage to agriculture this year is €210 million," — said General Director of the company insuring farms hail, Kurt Weinberger.

According to him, the extreme heat impact on the entire population of Austria, from an exporter of grain turning into a country of import. Now she is able to provide grain only 80% of its population. The only consolation for farmers are unusually high prices for their products this year.
