A large part of the lectures of a course held head of laboratory for mycological examination and standardization of medical products against mycoses and mycotoxicoses of the fgbi "VGNKI" Marina added. The lecturer told the audience about the biology and physiology of pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic fungi, their role in the habitat of humans and animals, principles of laboratory diagnosis and methods of treatment and specific prevention of fungal diseases of animals. One of the classes was devoted to fungi that contaminate food, animal feed and raw materials for production of these feeds.

Few lectures of the course, read the head of the laboratory of mycotoxicology and sanitation feed the all-Russian research Institute of veterinary sanitary, hygiene and ecology, doctor of biological Sciences, Professor Galina Kononenko. The lecturer in detail told about modern methods mycotoxicological control of feeding and, in particular, about the technique of enzyme immunoassay in the determination of mycotoxins.

Practical classes were held on the basis of the laboratory mycological examination and standardization of medical products against mycoses and mikotoksikozov fgbu "VGNKI". Under the guidance of the scientific staff of the laboratory course participants have mastered the accredited methods for mycological examination of clinical material, food and animal feed. Students learned how to perform the analysis of biological material and the selection of fungi to identify selected fungi and to determine their sensitivity to antifungal drugs and also to distinguish the fungi from food and feed production, quantitation and identification.

During practical training the scientific staff of the VGNKI also demonstrated the following methods of mushroom crops: macro - and microscopic study, definition of sensitivity of cultures to antifungal drugs. The course participants got acquainted with methods of qualitative and quantitative mycological examination of feed for animals and food. Students learned about culture media and reagents, which are used in mycological studies, and methods of quality control of media and reagents.
