The Minister praised the level of the production processes at the plant, emphasizing the importance of new investment projects of the plant for import substitution in the EEU for a wide range of equipment.
In the framework of the visit a working meeting was held with the participation of the plant management, of the Association "Rosspetsmash", representatives of the Ministry of industry and trade and the Government of the Rostov region. A key theme of the discussion was to provide equal conditions of access to the markets of the EAEU for manufacturers of agricultural machinery of the Union. This will increase the pace of import substitution in priority areas and models due released on the territory of the Union products. An agreement was reached to hold in the near future multilateral negotiations, with the support of the Commission.
In addition, Alexander Subbotin provided information on the current activities of the Commission on the development of criteria for classifying goods as jointly produced in the EEU in order to support export of such products to third countries. He noted the interest of the EEC in receiving proposals from business required by the companies support mechanisms for joint projects.
Association "Rosspetsmash" outlined the risks for producers of agricultural machinery, associated with the introduction in December of 2019 quotas on imports of hot-rolled steel.
During the meeting a decision was taken on the joint monitoring of prices on metals in order to take account of the interests of industrial consumers during the period of validity of the quota.
Following the event, participants expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation on the development of the industry of high-tech agricultural engineering in the Eurasian economic Union.
Alexander Subbotin noted that the Eurasian economic Commission is ready to become a consolidating platform for active cooperation in the direction of the business and authorities of the parties.
