Bangladesh has decided to import 200 thousand tons of wheat from Russia, due to the fact that recent floods have damaged much of the grain harvest in the country, according Dhakа Tribune.

The purchase was made upon the agreement of both States at a price of $252 per ton C&F and delivery is to be made in October.

According to the Ministry of agriculture of Bangladesh, as of 4 September ending stocks of wheat in the country amount to only 443 thousand tons.

It is also noted that the government plans to buy only 500 thousand tons of wheat and 1.5 million tons of rice.
