For 9 months milk production grew by 0.7%
In January-September 2017 in farms of all categories produced 24.3 million tonnes of milk (+0,7%, in 2016 – 24,08 million tons)

The production of milk in agricultural organizations amounted to 12 million tons (+3.2 percent), the peasant (farmer) farms – 1.8 million tons (+8.2 percent).

The largest increase in milk production provided the agricultural organizations of the Belgorod, Sverdlovsk, Voronezh, Kirov, Kaluga regions and the Republic of Tatarstan.

Decrease in milk production made in the Republic of Bashkortostan and Karelia, Orenburg and Smolensk regions.

For 9 months, the average milk yield per cow of dairy herd in the agricultural organizations (except microenterprises) increased by 5.2% to 4455 kg.

The greatest increase of milk productivity observed in the Republics of Ingushetia, Crimea, Kaliningrad and North Ossetia-Alania, as well as in the Kamchatka region.

The Director of the Department of animal husbandry and breeding Ministry of agriculture of Kharon Amerkhanov noted that a positive trend is the result of the measures taken to increase the production of milk. At the same deterrent to the development of the dairy industry remains the reduction in milk production in private farms, which accounted for about 43% of the total production.
