In particular, experts predict that the export of soft wheat from the EU to 2017/18 MG will only reach 20.3 million tons, up 0.9 million tons below the March estimates, and significantly inferior to the indicator in the season 2016/17 (24.2 million tons).
However, the aforementioned reduction in shipments is due primarily to the decrease in exports of wheat from France – 500 thousand tons to 8 million tons because of reduction of supply in Morocco.
In addition, reduced supplies of wheat to foreign markets, experts expect from Germany to 2.9 million tonnes (-300 thousand tonnes per year) and Poland – 900 (-100) thousand tons.
With regard to projections for 2018/19 MG, analysts Strategie Grains also cut its estimate of wheat exports from the Euro area by 500 thousand tonnes to 24.1 million tonnes. In particular, the supply of grain from France are expected to reach 9.2 million tonnes, Germany – 4.4 million tons.
