According to ITAR-TASS, the Rosselkhoznadzor suspended the decision on the resumption of deliveries to Russia of meat trimmed (scraps) from Europe in connection with the discovery of ractopamine - growth hormone, prohibited in Russia and Eszakra Sergey Dankvert.

According to Sergei Dankvert - "In connection with this case we suspended the opening of supply trimming from the EU countries".

Rosselkhoznadzor for the first time discovered prohibited growth hormone in meat products from the EU, he said. The substance was found in beef trimmings from Spain. Earlier this hormone was detected in products from the U.S. and other countries. This led to stoppage of supplies from these countries.

Besides, as said Dankvert, the Rosselkhoznadzor can take the decision to ban the import of plant productsfrom the EU countries due to regular detection of quarantine objects in European supplies.
