The government of the Pskov region abolished the quarantine "Velikie Luki meat", which was introduced on July 17, 2014 due to the outbreak of African swine fever (ASF). The corresponding decree was signed by the Governor Andrei Turchak 25 September.

The quarantine was extended to several municipalities in the Nevel area. After its cancellation resumed the export from the territory of plant products, live animals (except pigs) and feed. The government also lifted the ban on the agricultural fairs in the Nevel area.

However, according to the new decree, the management of the Pskov region for six months banned the export outside of the district of pigs, as well as from their slaughter products and raw materials. In addition, until March 25, 2015 will be limited to the sale of live pigs in the markets Nevelsky district.

ASF in the Pskov region

The Federal service for veterinary and phytosanitary surveillance of the Russian Federation (Rosselkhoznadzor) has recorded an outbreak of ASF on "Velikie Luki meat" July 2, 2014. Later the administration of the Rosselkhoznadzor for Tver and Pskov region has conducted an inspection of the plant on the results of liquidation of the company outbreaks of African swine fever. "The audit revealed numerous violations of the veterinary legislation, which can lead to the emergence of new foci of the disease and increase the risks of the spread of the disease in the Pskov region and beyond", - was reported in the territorial administration of the office.
