The corresponding statement was made on November 25, after the meeting, Deputy head of the Department for phytosanitary oversight agencies Maxim of Gninenko with representatives of the Embassy of Switzerland. It is noted that after the introduction of Russia's economic retaliation for Western sanctions supply of plant products from Switzerland increased on average by half, and the supply of apples - 40 times. In this regard, the Rosselkhoznadzor suspect that not all of this production is Swiss.

"In this connection it is necessary to find out the real source of exported products to the Russian Federation and to take all necessary measures, due to the action of the international Scam does not hurt the interests of respectable manufacturers of agricultural products", - said the Agency.

On 5 December, the Rosselkhoznadzor has asked the competent Swiss authority to provide data on the volume of domestically grown vegetable products, as well as to confirm the authenticity of phytosanitary certificates delivered in the Russian Federation commodity consignment. Otherwise, the office may impose temporary restrictions on import of fruit and vegetables from Switzerland, reports Reuters.

Recall that a food embargo imposed by Russia against the EU in response to the sanctions, did not affect Switzerland, which is not a member of the EU.
