Korea banned the import of poultry meat from the U.S.
The ban is associated with a detection on one of the American farm avian influenza virus.

The Republic of Korea (ROK) has completely banned the import of poultry meat from the United States, due to the fact that one of us farms detected with high pathogenicity avian influenza. This was announced by the Ministry of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and food industry of Kazakhstan.

"Introduced last Saturday, a ban on the import of any live poultry, eggs and products from poultry meat, if during the last 21 days they were not subjected to a half-hour processing at temperatures above 70 degrees Celsius", - said the representative of the office.

Last Thursday, U.S. authorities announced the outbreak in Oregon avian influenza caused by highly pathogenic strain of H5N8, the incubation period is 21 days.

South Korea is one of the major consumers of made in USA this product. This year Kazakhstan imported and 62.6 thousand tons of Chicks, whereas for the whole of last year were imported just over 44,1 thousand tons.

In 2014, the growth rate of its own production of poultry meat increased by 17.5%, the Ministry said. "In this regard, we do not expect problems with the supply of poultry meat, especially because it is imported from Brazil and Thailand", - said the representative of the Ministry of agriculture of RK.
