The average cost of Christmas buffet in the Russian Federation at the end of 2014 amounted 4528 rubles, or 11.8% more than at the end of December last year (4050 rubles). This was reported to journalists by the Deputy head of Rosstat George Oxenoid.

In Moscow the average cost of a year's table, according to Rosstat, was 5559 rubles (an increase of 11.3%), in St. Petersburg - 4537 rubles (an increase of 12.4%).

The cost of ingredients for cooking salad "Olivier" for the Christmas buffet will cost the Russians on average 257,17 rubles, which is 5.9% more than the year before, said Oxenoid.

The cost of the new year table is designed for a family of four people, including one child. "In Moscow traditionally Christmas buffet will cost more", - he stressed.

Deputy head of Rosstat indicated that the set of products for the Christmas buffet was included in the number of products that fall under restrictions on imports and exhibit very high growth.

For example, apples rose by 21.3%, chicken by 27.2%. In addition, cognac rose by 19.2%. Assessment of Rosstat, the cost of food needed to prepare the salad "Olivier", will cost an average of 257,17 rubles at the end of 2014, which is 5.9% more than the year before, and herring under a fur coat - 116,42 rubles (growth by 7.8%).

Speaking about the cost of the salad "Olivier", Oxenoid noted that of the products needed for its preparation, the most expensive onions, potatoes and carrots, and to a lesser extent - cooked sausage (in percentage).

As previously reported, the New year celebration Russians on average, expect to spend 8628 RUB from them on new year's eve buffet - 3103 rubles, about the same amount on gifts (3142 rubles).

This is evidenced by the study presents the all-Russian center for public opinion research (VTSIOM). A year ago the respondents planned to spend on this holiday for 6% less.
