The government of the Kaliningrad region will produce state food intervention. This was stated by the Governor Nikolai Tsukanov at the meeting with representatives of business associations in the region.

"One month ago to me by the Minister of agriculture reported that we have before the new harvest enough vegetables. Yesterday he said that there are no vegetables already there", - said the Governor. In his opinion, to blame "speculators and dealers that are at the root of farmers are buying up all the products. In the result, says Nicholas Toknow, products in the region, but their dealers are holding with the purpose of creating an artificial shortage in order to dictate prices in the market.

The way out of this situation Tsukanov sees the state food and interventions, as part of market relations to handle the situation does not work. "Accordingly, we will put in this season and potatoes, and vegetables, buying them from the population and companies, and when rates will rise, we'll just these products pour into the market", - said the head of the region.

According to him, this year it is planned to build another one or two vegetable store.

Following the meeting, working groups were established, which will ensure food security, provision of enterprises of food industry raw materials, conservation jobs, reducing the number of enterprises that were under threat of closure. "Of course, we should support financial instruments of banks, interest rates, interest rate subsidies, first of all, we are willing to subsidize mortgage lending, agriculture", - stressed the head of the region.
