Earlier, the Russian grain Union (RGU) has written to the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev with a request to cancel the export duty on wheat. The letter noted that the fee was introduced as a temporary anti-crisis measure, rzs stands opposed to its inclusion. The Union believes that the measure reduces the investment attractiveness of the industry and could lead to the strengthening of the position of other countries. According to the Union, last season because of duty, market participants received less up to 40 billion rubles of income.

Russia has introduced an export duty on wheat from February 1, 2015 to stabilize the situation on the domestic grain market. Later the parameters were adjusted several times. October 1, 2015, the fee is 50% of the customs value minus 6,5 thousand rubles per ton, but not less than 10 rubles per ton.
