The audit will be the next step in the negotiations over the granting of permission to the Lithuanian enterprises to export to China, beef and animal feed. Negotiations on the veterinary requirements and approval documents from the responsible agencies of China started in 2015.

Experts during the audit the most attention will be paid to the fact whether implemented in Lithuania state food and veterinary control applied in China standards and requirements, and effectively whether in Lithuania the system of control over quality and food safety.

In addition, an assessment will be made of the preparation of Lithuanian companies wishing to export their products. As the Director of veterinary services, it is difficult to predict how long negotiations will take and when final decisions are taken.

Jonas Milius claims that it depends on many circumstances, however, Lithuania is interested in the process to go smoothly.
