After Russia, Romania has banned the import of meat and pork products from Moldova. This was stated by the Minister of agriculture of Romania, the Governor of Irimescu, IPN reports.

According to him, the Romanian authorities took this measure after Moldova and Ukraine confirmed cases of African swine fever, against which there is no vaccine. A ban on the import, including small traffic - this is a mandatory measure, but do not fully protect from danger.

"The virus can enter in two ways: transported to citizens in the foods that contain meat of infected pigs and wild boars using. Unfortunately, the propagation path through wild boar is about 70% of the risk, "—said the Minister of agriculture of the country.

According to the Mayor Irimescu if the disease reaches the territory of Romania, there will be losses in the millions of euros. There is no vaccine against the fever of pigs so that animals must be killed and the corpses burned. In addition, Romania will have a ban on the export to the European Union in the conditions when the recently gained access to this market after a long ban.

Russia also banned pork imports from Moldova after September 22, was discovered two outbreaks with suspected infection with fever virus pigs in the villages Different and Cernoleuca of Donduseni district.
