Dzhambulat Hatuov noted that the oil and fat industry is one of the leading sub-sectors of the food processing industry. Revenue from its businesses in 2016 amounted to about 600 billion rubles.

"For the last 6 years the production of vegetable oils increased by 63% and amounted to 5.1 million tons last year, of which 2.5 million tons we sent for export," - said the first Deputy Minister.

In his opinion, to achieve such notable results have been, including by conducting a large-scale modernization, reconstruction and construction of modern industrial enterprises.

"Developing not only the production of vegetable oils, but also products of their processing. Due to this, there has been a steady decline in imports and increase in exports of these products", he stressed.

IA "Kazakh-Zerno" said, referring to the Agency, last year the import of products of processing of oils and fats amounted to 91 thousand tonnes of exports to 252 thousand tons (in 2015 was 108 and 224 thousand tons, respectively).

"We plan that export of oil products will reach 3.5 billion by 2025. While predicted expanding volumes in existing markets and entering new, including countries in the Asia-Pacific region", - said Dzhambulat Hatuov.

He added that currently the Ministry of agriculture is considering measures that will help to make Russian products oil and fat industry more competitive in foreign markets.

During the meeting participants discussed prospects of development and issues of technical regulation of the industry, refining of vegetable oils etc.

Dzhambulat Hatuov noted that, despite steady growth in production in oil and fat industry, its further development may prevent a number of problems. The most acute is the risk of shortage of raw materials when existing production capacity.

"It is important to establish an optimal balance between the volume of production of raw materials and facilities for processing it. It is necessary to build a monitoring system industry, as well as increase the production of raw materials through the development of technologies for intensive crop production in respect of oil crops", - he stressed.
