Import of dairy products in Russia, according to preliminary results of the first quarter of 2017, has made 24,5 thousand tons (amounting to 25.1 million USD). This is 12% below the volume imported in January-March 2016, but in 15.1% more volume in 2015.
Despite the reduction in the import of dairy products in General, the external supply of certain types of dairy products in 2017 is still grown. Thus, the imports of yoghurts increased during the first quarter of 18.7% (2.3 thousand tonnes), sour cream – 35.0% (8.4 million tons), while imports of yogurt declined by 3.0% (to 5.3 thousand tons), other types of dairy products – by 40.4% (8.4 million tons).
In the structure of import of dairy products by type the largest share of sour cream (about 34% in the first quarter of 2017), yogurt (22%) and yoghurt (9%).
