According to Rosstat, Mordovia was included into number 20 of the best regions for the production of milk for 5 months 2017. The volume of milk production in small, medium and large enterprises of the region amounted to 137.6 thousand tons, which is 4,2% higher than the same period last year.

"We intend to maintain the momentum of growth of agricultural production. Plans this year to produce more than 415 thousand tons of milk and to reach a 6,000 kg milk yield from cows. And by 2022, we intend to cross the 7-thousandth boundary on milk yield per cow", — said the acting head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov, whose words are reported.

He recalled that in the five years to the development of Mordovian village invested more than 40 billion rubles. Mordovia is among the top five regions of the country in the production of meat, eggs and milk per capita. So, per capita is 506 litres, 345 kg of meat, 1760 eggs. Over 60% of production is supplied outside the Republic – in 68 Russian regions and foreign countries.
