This was announced by the Minister of agriculture Alexander Tkachev. "I think the task for us, we need to work actively", – said Tkachev channel "Russia 24".

In 2017, Russia exported agricultural products to $20.1 billion. Tkachev said that in 2000 the volume of Russian exports of agricultural products amounted to only $1.5 billion.

"There are objective things, because we are part of the global economy, and, naturally, we have to reckon with the pricing, and the challenges that exist in food production. But, increasing exports, we will increase the capitalization of the industry, to attract investment in it," said the Minister.

One of the promising export directions is lax, said Tkachyov. After a while, the flax will become the card of Russia, he said. "Twelve Russian regions, based on this production, can make a good economy," the Minister said.

Earlier, the international grains Council raised its forecast for Russian grain exports in the 2017/18 crop year (runs from July to June) to 1.7 million t to 44 million t. Thus, Russia can take the second place in world grain exports.
