During the General session of the International epizootic Bureau in Paris, met Russian Deputy Minister Konstantin Savenkov, Director of the Department of animal health of Argentina, Ricardo Maresco.

"Meeting held at the initiative of the Russian side in connection with the concern, associated with the sharp increase in the number of detections of antibiotics (including tetracycline) coming from Argentina animal products", — stated in the message of Rosselkhoznadzor for the meeting.

"The Russian side noted that in case of continuation of the discovery in Argentina of banned and harmful substances, the Rosselkhoznadzor will have to impose measures of a restrictive nature," adds the service.

In turn, the representatives of Argentina expressed their willingness to soon send the results of the investigations on these violations. In addition, the Argentine side is ready to provide the Rosselkhoznadzor with information on the measures taken to control the amount of antibiotics in products and to prevent the supply to the Russian market substandard goods.

According to the Federal customs service of Russia, import food and agricultural raw materials to Russia from Argentina to 2017, amounted to 578,92 million dollars (2% of the total import of agricultural products). The country occupies a small share in the imports of beef and pork (1%), however, delivers 51% of imported in Russia horse meat is a main supplier (41%) of edible offal of bovine animals, swine, sheep, goats and horses.
