The imposition of restrictions on imports of certain dairy products from Belarus will have a positive impact on consumer prices and on the cost of raw milk from farmers. This opinion was expressed by TASS in the Ministry of agriculture.

"Increased demand from trade organizations on the finished domestic products and dairy plants - raw milk. Thus, there are prerequisites for positive changes of the price situation on the milk market", - explained in the Ministry.

The Ministry of agriculture said that now the Russian market is characterized by relatively low selling prices of agricultural producers for raw milk. According to the Ministry, consumer prices for dairy products reached 52,64 RUB/kg in pasteurized milk for drinking; at the level of 479,52 RUB/kg in rennet hard and soft; at the level of 312,48 RUB/kg fat cottage cheese; butter - the size 533,45 RUB./kg. While the Ministry stressed the saturation of Russian market with domestic products, noting that in this context, price growth cannot occur.

On the eve of the Rosselkhoznadzor announced the intention to introduce from 6 June temporary restrictions on supplies to Russia of milk and some other dairy products from Belarus, as received for processing (raw materials) and the consumer packaging larger than 2.5 liters. The ban will affect milk and cream pasteurized, sterilized and ultrapasteurization bulk; dry milk and cream, concentrated, canned and condensed; serum lactic liquid, concentrated, dry; concentrate whey and milk protein.
