Аграрии Томской области снижают издержки и повышают рентабельность производства сельхозпродукции за счет использования цифровых технологий и автоматизации производственных процессов. На сельскохозяйственную технику региона устанавливаются мониторинговые и телеметрические системы, агрономы с каждым годом чаще используют специализированное программное обеспечение. Все более широко применяются беспилотные авиационные системы, сельскохозяйственные дроны и БПЛА для мониторинга и инвентаризации полей, химобработки посевов. Также в регионе реализуется проект по построению инфраструктуры IoT (интернет вещей) в агрометеорологии.

Развитию этого проекта способствует и уникальная научная база региона, включающая в себя многолетний опыт селекции этой культуры.
