Russia's first production line of feta cheese will be officially launched on 11 September in the city of Gryazovets Vologda region, told ITAR-TASS in the press service of the acting Governor of the Vologda region on Wednesday.

It is expected that the production of cheese is used raw materials exclusively local suppliers.

Monthly plant can produce up to 450 tons of cheese. Produce like cheese domestic companies is hampered by the lack of special packaging lines. The unique technology of liquid filling, when the cheese hardens already in the package, eliminates human contact with unpackaged product. Such equipment in the world there are eight units, so the experts are convinced that the Vologda region has become the main supplier of this type of cheese in the country.

Line for production of cheese will be launched on the basis of already existing processing plants. Agreement on cooperation in developing the investment project was signed in 2013 between the Corporation of development of the region and the group of companies "Neva cheeses".

At the moment it is manufactured in seven countries". In the shops the cheese produced in the Vologda region, will go under the trademark "Sirtaki".
