The net turnover of the Finnish leader in the meat processing industry Atria Russia fell in 2014 by 18.7% to €98.8 million against the devaluation of the ruble and the ban on imports of pork from the EU. This is stated in the report.

Net sales of Atria group in the world for 2014 increased by only 1% to €1.4 billion

"Rapid changes in the global meat market affected the predictability of the business in 2014. The factors that led to the imbalance in the meat market, include a ban on the import into Russia of meat from the European Union and declines in the market prices of pork in Europe. On predictability (business - approx.ed.) also adversely affected the volatility of the ruble", - the report says the company.

Program cost optimization, Atria launched in Russia at the end of 2013, helped to somewhat rectify the situation, the document says.

Under the program, the company decided to stop manufacturing facilities and logistics unit in Moscow by the end of 2014, as well as to sell your real estate company for €12 million

In December 2014 TASS reported that Atria has decided to reduce staff time on swinbourne in Nurmi (Finland) due to the difficult situation on the Finnish market and introduced by Russia in early 2014 ban on imports of these products from the EU.

Russian predamage did not affect the export company in Russia - he actually stopped since February, when the Rosselkhoznadzor has restricted the export of pork to Russia from the EU because of the epidemic of African swine fever (ASF) .
