Retail prices for rye-wheat bread in the Russian Federation since the beginning of 2015 9 February rose by 5.1% to 39 Euro per 1 kg of this is stated in the materials of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation (Ministry of agriculture) with reference to data of the Federal service of state statistics.

Wheat bread during this period rose by 4.2% to 39.4 rubles per 1 kg

At the same time the Ministry of agriculture recorded a slower growth of wholesale prices of wheat and rye flour in the European part of Russia. So, on 16 February 2015 ton of wheat flour for the week rose by only 0.3%, to $ 17,47 thousand rubles

In January 2015, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said that the growth of prices for bread - this is a delayed effect of the increased cost of grain on the domestic market of the Russian Federation and he will stop in April.

The participants of the grain market, in turn, argued that manufacturers have revised their selling prices, and indexing the cost of bread in retail will end in February-March.

The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) at the end of 2014 began an investigation of the wholesale and retail markets of bread and flour, in order to ascertain the veracity of media reports about the impending price increases for these products. However, the results of this inspection the service has concluded that the price increase was justified. According to FAS, the increase in bread prices in retail since the beginning of the introduction by Russia of a food embargo by the end of January 2015 amounted to 15-20%.
