The import of frozen beef decreased by 29.1% to of 131.6 thousand tons of beef offal 23.3% to 43.7 thousand tons.

For the week, average prices for live cattle declined in all countries on average by 1.5%, except for EU countries, where a slight increase in swept aside. During the month the world prices for cattle have increased in average by 0.2%.

Most of this growth is due to a stable increase in prices in the countries of the European Union and the United States. Last week the world prices for beef in the EU has recovered slightly, and in the United States declined slightly. In Uruguay, the price remained at level of last week, that is 4,16 $/kg. Per month of beef rose on average by 2.6%, mainly due to the growth of prices in Uruguay (+4.7% mom).

In Russia the average level of wholesale prices of imported beef and offal was lower by 0.9%. Per month cost decreased on average by 0.8%. As for the Belarusian beef, on 29 August 2016 half-carcasses of frozen cows in category 1 were offered at a price 176,0 rubles/kg.
