The decision was made at the next meeting of the Moldovan government, taking into account adopted by the special Commission on emergency situations of the action plan for the prevention of distribution Achs in territory of the Republic. According to the latest data, in the North of Moldova identified the suspected outbreak of ASF in two localities, carried out laboratory analysis.

As highlighted in the government, "the decision, which involves a temporary ban on import from Ukraine of animals susceptible to African swine fever virus, as well as seeds, meat, meat products and offal of animal origin".

"Do not underestimate the danger. Citizens and economic agents must understand why it is necessary to prohibit the import of meat from Ukraine", — said at the meeting of the Cabinet Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip.

As noted by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of economy Octavian Calmic, Moldova has international obligations under the agreement on free trade zone of the CIS countries, therefore, should immediately inform the Ukrainian side about the necessity of such a decision to protect the domestic market.
