Fat-and-oil Union of Russia and the national Union of milk producers ("Soyuzmoloko") signed a Memorandum on the unified method of calculation of indicative indicators of industry and balance of milk and dairy products.

Association will work on development of standards for independent evaluation of industry data. Experts note that today it is impossible to bring to a common denominator the volume of milk produced and milk products, as the official statistics of the relevant authorities is not conducted. This factor provides the opportunity for unscrupulous producers to supply the market with goods documented uncommitted shares of substitute of milk fat. Offered by the experts of the Unions, the order of calculation will be one of the tools to combat counterfeit products.

So according to the estimates of the balance of milk fat and milk fat substitutes, the proportion of adulterated dairy products in 2015 was 8%, in 2016 – about 5%. In turn, the share of adulterated milk fat in the total weight of milk fat and milk fat substitute in the past year was recorded in the amount of about 4% a year earlier and 7%.

"The difficult economic situation in Russia and the devaluation of the national currency led to a significant decline in the purchasing power of the population, and unscrupulous manufacturers actively using the desire of consumers to save. The problem of counterfeit facing the industry the last few years, and despite the decline in the share of such products, requires consolidated solutions in the industry", — said the Executive Director of Soyuzmoloko Artem Belov. According to him, fake and destroys the trust of consumers, and the competitive environment in the dairy market.

"Industry associations agreed that it is important to create a single model calculation, which will reflect the real situation within the market. The use of the producer of substitute of milk fat normally. Some kinds of dairy products assume the presence of substitutes of milk fat. These conditions provided the recipe of such products. However, if we talk about the group of fresh milk products, any milk fat substitute should be excluded. Otherwise, it's simply fake, and the manufacturer violates the regulatory requirements. The producers themselves, by signing the Memorandum in the face of two relevant Unions say they are interested in a real assessment of the volume of counterfeit drugs on the market and ready to join forces to reduce its share", commented the Executive Director of the oil and fat Union of Russia Mikhail Maltsev.
