The Rosselkhoznadzor from 16 January imposed temporary restrictions on the import of South African animals, meat, equipment and food in connection with the emergence in South Africa of the hearth of highly pathogenic avian influenza, unstable epizootic situation in bluetongue, African swine fever and African swine horses, according to the materials of the Department.

On the territory of Russia from South Africa is prohibited to import live poultry, hatching eggs, poultry meat, finished meat products from poultry, and all kinds of poultry products, which contains products of processing of poultry with the exception of goods subject to processing that destroys the bird flu virus.

It is prohibited to import to the territory of Russia live animals susceptible to African swine, horses or pigs, are susceptible to blutango. In addition, it is forbidden to import fodder and feed additives for birds, as well as equipment used for maintenance, slaughter and cutting of birds.

It is also prohibited to transit the specified types of animals. Allowed the transportation of companion animals — dogs, cats and live fish.
