Spring sowing in the whole country conducted in an area of 26.9 million hectares, or 50.4 per cent of the forecast (2017 29.2 million hectares). Including in the southern Federal district spring sowing carried out in the area of 5.1 million hectares, or 81.3% of the forecast (2017 – 4.6 million ha). In the North Caucasian Federal district – 1.6 million ha, or 87.3% of the forecast (2017 – 1.7 million ha). In the Central Federal district – 7.4 million hectares or 77,3% of the forecast (2017 – 7.5 million ha). In the Volga Federal district – 9.0 million hectares or 56,9% of the forecast (2017 – 9.6 million hectares). In the North-Western Federal district – 226,0 thousand ha, or 42.6% of the forecast (2017 162,7 thousand hectares). In the far Eastern Federal district 655,6 thousand hectares or 34,1% of the forecast (2017 – 533,5 thousand hectares). In the Urals Federal district – 931,9 thousand hectares or 21.3% of the forecast (2017 to 1.6 million hectares). In the Siberian Federal district – 1.9 mln ha or 14.9% of the forecast (2017 to 3.6 million hectares).

Spring grain and leguminous crops in the whole country planted on an area of 15.3 million ha or 49.3% of the forecast (2017 17.4 million ha). Of them, spring wheat planted on an area of 4.0 million ha or 31.1 per cent of the forecast (2017 and 5.3 million hectares). Spring barley was sown on the area of 5.4 million hectares, or 70.2 per cent of the forecast (2017 to 5.5 million hectares). Corn for grain was sown on an area of 2.2 million hectares, or 72.8 percent of the forecast (2017, 2.5 million ha). Rice was sown 145,8 thousand hectares or 79.1% of the forecast (2017 – 137,3 thousand hectares).

Sugar beet (factory) planted on an area of 1.1 million hectares or 99.3% of the forecast (2017 and 1.1 million hectares).

Flax planted on an area of 15.3 thousand ha or 32.8% of the forecast (2017 – 1,0 thousand hectares).

Sunflower planted on an area of 5.0 million ha, or 65.8 per cent of the forecast (2017 – 5.0 million ha).

Soybeans planted on an area of 1.3 million hectares or 49,2% of the forecast (2017 and 1.1 million hectares).

Spring rape was sown 604,4 thousand hectares or 57.5% of the forecast (2017 479,9 thousand hectares).

In the agricultural enterprises and peasant (farm) potatoes planted on the area of 150,9 thousand ha or 49.3% of the forecast (2017 – 233,8 thousand hectares). Vegetables were sown to 103.3 thousand hectares or 58.7% of the forecast (2017 – 93.7 thousand ha).
