Farmers Tver region received new markets after the prohibition of importation of products from a number of countries. This was reported by Minister of agriculture in the region Pavel Mihalev, summarizing the preliminary results of the year.

He recalled that in early September in Moscow there was a fair Tver agricultural products. "Was followed by invitations from retail chains in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other regions", - said Mihalev.

He noted that this year in Tver instead of two selected eleven sites for implementation of farm products - meat, dairy products and others. Upon completion of the required number of sites will increase.

Harvesting crops in the Tver region continues. Grain and leguminous crops harvested on the area 69, 9 thousand ha /77%/, already milled 97,9 thousand tons of grain /2013 - 73,9 thousand tons.

"In grain yield up to 21 tons per hectare - 7 quintals more than last year. Thus, the gross grain harvest has exceeded 100 thousand tons", - said the Minister.

In 2014 Tver region has become a leader in Russia in the sowing of flax. Fiber for further processing will go to Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Smolensk and other areas of the Russian Federation, as well as in China.

"If you compare the region with the neighboring regions, the amount of acreage we have in the first place /around 640 thousand ha/. Moreover, these indicators we are ahead and the Moscow region. Production of meat is about the second or third place milk on the third or fourth. And these numbers will increase," - said the Minister.

Today in the region employs about 700 farms and more than 100 farms. Total production and marketing of agricultural products is about 22 billion annually.

While up to 2 billion rubles per year amount to subsidies Tver farmers from budgets of different levels.
